GGGR revolves around 4 real estate salesmen who have a week to prove they have what it takes to remain working for the company. First prize is a Cadillac. Second prize a set of steak knives and third and fourth get fired. As the play unfolds we see the different tactics used by our four anti-heroes as they struggle against the irreversible tide that is American capitalism, without realising that they are major contributors to that that they rail against so vehemently. The four are managed by Williamson, who is continually struggling to retain authority. We also see the way that a customer can be manipulated to buy something he never really wanted. During the latter part of the play the office is broken into and we see over the course of the second act who is responsible. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable evening from two Directors with a strong track record of working with both Burgess Hill and other local clubs and societies.

On the one hand the play is a reflection of the dark forces controlling corporate American and at the same time a deeply black comedy that will have you laughing out loud.

Welcome to Karen’s garden. The lawns are immaculate, the paths are clear of leaves, the flowers dead-headed. Her garden may be perfect, but her life is a complicated mess. Her 18 year marriage to Rob has hit a rough patch, her daughter is dating an inappropriate young man and a teenage lodger is eating her out of house and home.

This complex comedy drama is full of secrets, lies, and the usual shock announcements which we have come to expect from author, Cherry Woodhouse, who gave us The Engagement, Style, Women Without Husbands and co-wrote Contemporary Canterbury.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this production verry nearly a sell out show and a great press review in the Mid Sussex Times! Let's see how it does at the Brighton and Hove Drama Awards on the 12 December.
