Imagine Hamlet turned inside out. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are two minor characters from William Shakespeare's Hamlet. They are childhood friends of the Prince. They are sent for by Hamlet’s mother and step-father to spy on Hamlet to glean why he has been acting so strangely since the death of his father. This play tells the story of Hamlet from Rosencrantz and Guildenstern’s perspective. The two leads are hopelessly lost in their quest – unable to remember their own names, unsure who sent for them, where they are going, and what they are supposed to do when they get there. Stoppard explores themes of existentialism, free will and fate with clever wordplay and a bit of slapstick thrown in for good measure. The Cast:
