SYNOPSIS: Noises Off is a play within a play called "Nothing On" (a purposely dreadful sex comedy). Act One focuses on the dress rehearsal, with the cast still fumbling with entrances and exits and bothersome props (notably, a plate of sardines).
Act Two portrays the opening night, at the (fictional) Grand Theatre in Weston-super-Mare; but it is seen from backstage, providing a view that reveals the deteriorating personal relationships among the cast.
Act Three sees a performance well into the run, when everyone is bored and anxious to be done with it, and the actors attempt to cover a series of mishaps by making up the play as they go along.

BHTC NOTES: The early building of the 2 level set necessary for rehearsing, was greatly assisted by the loan of an empty industrial unit (see Press Article 1 below).
Once the set transferred to The Martlets, a decision was taken by Charles that the stage curtains would remain open whilst the set was turned between acts, so the audiences could see and fully appreciate the amazing double sided set.
