PRODUCTION: Alice's Adventures In Wonderland (Childrens Drama) PRODUCTION DATE: Saturday 29th March 2003 DIRECTED BY: Elizabeth Batten assisted by Norma Somerville STAGED: Burgess Hill Theatre SYNOPSIS: The play tells the story of a girl named Alice who falls down a rabbit-hole into a fantastic realm populated by peculiar and anthropomorphic creatures. The tale plays with logic in ways that have made the story of lasting popularity with adults as well as children. PLAYWRIGHT: Adapted by club member Elizabeth Batten from Lewis Carroll's famous story of the same name. The book is commonly referred to by the abbreviated title Alice in Wonderland, an alternative title popularized by the numerous stage, film and television adaptations of the story produced over the years. BHTC NOTES: This was an evening of one act plays & sketches performed for the enjoyment of members and patrons and involving some new director and acting debuts. Alice's Adventures In Wonderland was a reprise of part of the junior production that was performed in the Martlets shopping centre the previous year.
