PRODUCTION: The Rehearsal (Drama) PRODUCTION DATE: Saturday 29th March 2003 DIRECTED BY: Peter Forester STAGED: Burgess Hill Theatre SYNOPSIS: Disillusioned by a life spent pursuing pleasure, Count Tiger may find salvation in the purity of a young visitor to his court. Threatened by disruption of the fragile status quo, members of the jaded, sated court are bent on ferreting out and annihilating his innocent savior. PLAYWRIGHT: Jean Anouilh The Rehearsal was written in 1950 and titled in French 'La répétition ou l'amour puni'. BHTC NOTES: This was an evening of one act plays & sketches performed for the enjoyment of members and patrons and involving some new director and acting debuts. As explained in the production programme, the perfomance was just an extract from the play, as there had been casting difficulties when it was originally planned as the clubs spring production. It seems the play never actually got performed as a full production, but at least some photographs were taken to record this performance (see below). |
