PRODUCTION: Last Tango In Worlds End (Comedy Drama)
PRODUCTION DATE: October 2004
DIRECTED BY: Rick Peckham
STAGED: The Burgess Hill Theatre
SYNOPSIS: 'Little Grimley' Amateur Dramatic Society is in trouble. The membership has dwindled to four - the audiences aren't much bigger - and if they don't come up with some rent money soon, they're going to be thrown out. "There's only one thing that sells tickets these days" argues Gordon the Chairman. "Sex!" . Thus begins the chaotic and hilarious build-up to an evening of extraordinary home-grown drama - an evening the locals would never forget!
PLAYWRIGHT: David Tristram is an English comic playwright who's plays have been widely performed by amateur and professional groups.
BHTC NOTES: The actual title of the play is 'Last Tango In Little Grimley', but was changed for comic effect to reflect the World's End area of Burgess Hill.
This production was first performed by the club in 1999 and it's reprise, explained on the programme, was specifically to raise funds for a local charity. This production was only performed to BHTC club members, patrons and friends as a supper evening, rather than before the general public.
