PRODUCTION: Give Me A Ring (Shakepearian Dramas) PRODUCTION DATE: June 2008 DIRECTED BY: Jacky Hilary STAGED: The Burgess Hill Theatre SYNOPSIS: Based around the theme of rings that are mentioned in various Shakespeare plays, this show featured excerpts from Twelfth Night, The Merchant of Venice, The Two Gentleman Of Verona, Richard lll and All's Well That Ends Well PLAYWRIGHT: Excerpts selected and programme developed and written by club member Jacky Hilary. Jacky had already written a one act play, Two Times Two (1999) and Missing You (2000). William Shakespeare lived for 52 years. In just 23 years, between approximately 1590 and 1613, he is attributed with writing 38 plays, 154 sonnets and 5 other poems. BHTC NOTES: This was the first production performed outside in our own theatre garden, but unfortunately due to adverse weather conditions one of the shows had to be performed inside. |
